There are about 4.5 million of internet users in the Philippines as of year 2000. Most people especially students, teachers, and professionals now prefer using the internet for research and recreation. As long as you know how to access the internet, your work will be much easier through the help of enormous websites according to your need choice, or wherever your surfing takes you. One who would really access in the web would surely find lots of information that matches their search on just one click of the mouse.
Philippine government created websites which is also under the law in order to bring easier faster and accessible service to the Filipino people. Websites costs money and are being paid with taxes and so the web manager should see to it that the website is written well and designed well, that the visitor can access it easily, that it’s accurate and that it’s contributing to the development of the government agency’s mission to the public and its advocacy.
The world today is very competitive and to be one of those one needs to be equipped with updated and useful information and one way is to improve the internet website access in our government. It is therefore very important to evaluate our government websites that are usually used by the mass to help improve and develop successful user-centric websites, to meet the needs or requirements of the client and in order to bring about change for the betterment of the Filipino people.
Statement of the Problem:
The study seeks to answer the following questions:
1. Is the site publisher or author identified on the websites?
2. Is the content of the site clear?
3. Is the navigation or structure of the website well-organized?
4. Are there active links for more information?
5. Is the website easily identifiable?
Objective of the Study
The study aims to
1. identify the site publisher or author on the websites
2. identify the content of the site
3. determine the organization and navigation of the website
4. identify the links existing in the website
5. determine the identification of the site
